The Turkish Airlines Open returns to Carya Golf Resort and there is a strong field battling for a big pot. Last year’s scoring was good with twelve players getting into double-digits under par but no-one really threatening Thorbjorn Olesen.
Making birdies will be key but that can’t happen without hitting greens. That has been the strength of Benjamin Hebert this season and has fed his consistent results.
Last year he finished a lowly T68 at this event but played well tee-to-green finding 61.5% of fairways and 81.9% of GIRs, enough to seem him ranked 11th. The Frenchman didn’t make enough putts and that is the worry with his game but he will have build some confidence as he got better every round in Italy on his last start.
Having made his last nine cuts, he arrives in Turkey in good form and it wouldn’t be a surprise if he contended again.
