RSM Classic – betting tips 144

JT Poston had a tricky rookie season on the PGA Tour, missing out on a card after finishing 132nd on the FedEx Cup but high enough to earn status for these weaker Fall events. jt poston

The 24-year-old is making the most of his opportunities. He finished T4 at the Shriners Open and followed it up with another good performance in the OHL Classic. Still searching for his first professional win, this is a player who makes the most of his starts.

Two season ago he began the year with no status whatsoever and fought his way through the Web.com Tour, so don’t be surprised if he somehow fashions another opening in Sea Island this week. Solid throughout the bag, he can make an impact this week.

you are correct…corals have now taken it down…im not sure how they are going to play this scenario out as i have deff got FRL on david hearn…hoping hes on the easier of the courses ? im in negotiation with them seen as i have him as first round leader with the guys who are on his course only is what im arguing the toss about….its all bye the bye though as wang will probably double boggie the first hole in Dubai lol

    lets see

    • Robbie

Good luck with that , some bookies are useless
      Porteous 1rl
      Jameson n scniederjans double

It took a 5 man play off to win this last year.
That should never have been the case.
I mean an 18 inch putt to win …and missed !!!
No wonder Billy Horschel skips this years event.
Wouldnt you know I had him backed 😨
Mackenzie Hughes is 100/1 to repeat and could be a value e/w betting option.
Difficult to be confident of anyone really but must pick some guys for investment.
    Im tempted by Bubba 60/1 but his game looks to be in a mess. Ive settled on ;
    Bud Cauley…….66/1
    Sean O Hair……80/1
And Mackenzie Hughes 100/1 in defence.

my whinging has paid off if any body is interested in a first round leader market on the RSM

corals have now opened up a FRL on each of the courses now seen as robbie quite correctly pointed out there mistake as the first 2 days are played over the SEASIDE COURSE & PLANTATION course. normally the seaside one is harder due to winds but it seems to bring up conflicting reports on that…but the wind is down this week so no worries on that score. i got david hearn at 125-1 on the so called harder track…hes now 50’s so happy days there….he has carded a 64 around that one…hope for some more of that then please

    Europe—-The Final Countdown—-Great Song !
    England v Spain !
Tommy , Justin or Sergio ?

Looks like Rose slipped up by skipping last week. Having said that,Fleetwood’s lead looks a bridge to far for in form Rose and its very unlikely Garcia will win the Harry Varden Trophy.
So who is likely to win this tournament ?
One golfer Im keeping an eye on is Soren Kjeldsen. Last week in his second round he dropped 7 shots in 3 holes scoring 7 ,4 , 8 at three par 4’s. Admiringly he soldiered on to finish with a 78. He played very good golf in the final rounds and ended up tied 12th. That to me showed great fight and I have a feeling He might be up there challenging come sunday.
The field is strong. Very strong. Another i like is Thomas Pieters who was placed last time out for me.As an outsider, pricewise anyway, is
Paul Dunne. Slow start , good finish last week
    Soren Kjeldsen……50/1
    Thomas Pieters….40/1
    Paul Dunne…………66/1
    Each Way all three.
Posting here because no DP page open yet.

Sean – hope you are ok.

Was reading your earlier post about being on Horschel last year when he blew up.
I remember it well because I was on him too.
Firstly, I can’t believe it was a year ago, and secondly I’m not sure he had a two footer to win it, I think he missed a two footer at the 2st extra hole to be eliminated in a five man playoff that went to the Monday.
Of course I might be wrong….
      Either way, painful.

      • sean

Spot on Dodger sorry I thought it was to win it but yeah it was painful to watch.
Under the weather at present with bad chest infection. Not getting much sleep. Plenty of golf to watch later.
Good Luck this weekend and thanks.

      • Ron B

I actually think it was an 18incher for poor Billy remember it well I had Villegas in the play-off the swine! Monday finish where did that 12 months go?

  • Kaiser

    There is always another
Kraft FRL into Wang FRL into Simin Feng she seems high at 80-1 on the weeker ladies

    Wang FRL into Feng
Ere we go again…no hair left to pull out now

  • Dodger

Can’t believe how the years go by,

    Anyway,

Main bet here is on Beau Hossler – form
Is strong and has played well by the sea before.

S W Kim – in good form – trending the right way.

Bill McGirt – slowly finding form

B Stuard – finished well last week.

Annoying last week, looked at Kizzire but passed him over.

    Oh well

    • Dodger

      In the Tour Championship

I really like the look of Hatton – his form has held up well, and was 2nd here a year ago.

I have a sneaky feeling for Alex Noren this week, seems to be playing well again.

Had a smaller wager on Olesen & Bjerregaard.

Not got a great feel for this event so keeping stakes a bit lower.
Had a good look this week at 3 at the head of the betting (kisner, harmon, simpson) and can see an angle for all 3 playing well but as I’m having less on and the prices are 20/1 and under I’m giving them a pass (Simpson would be the main fancy).
I’ve went with a couple of inform guys and a few with good short game skills.

    Scott Brown 45/1
    Whee Kim 66/1
    Luke Donald 100/1
    Padraig Harrington 125/1
    Peter malnati 250/1

  • Craig h

With the way my bets have been going in recent weeks (last week i bet 7 players between the 2 tours and had 6 top 20’s and zero returns) I’ve took a different angle in to this week’s event in Dubai.
I’ve done a top 20 acca which pays 12.5/1 with Rose, Garcia, Grace, Fitzpatrick, Hatton and Dubuisson.
I’ve got a feeling this could end up being a replay of this year’s masters with Rose and Garcia going head to head down the stretch so I’ve done 2 e/w bets in a bet without Rose, Garcia and Rahm.

    Charl schwartzel 20/1
    Paul Dunne 50/1

    As always good luck all.

    David lipsky 55/1

My luck hasn’t changed. Seconditus still.

        lol
        Perhaps. Hes going yo miss my double win this week though;
        PETERSON/LUCK

Thats my Christmas with the feet up

        • Crazylegs

It’s treble time! If you can’t land a double, why not try a treble, lol!

          The obvious:
          Louis
          Sergio
          Brooks

          The facespitter:
          Zander
          Hickock
          Kisner
Half a mill for the xmas stocking be nice…GLA!

  • Alex

    Hero World Challenge:

Koepka – playing great lately, think the course will suit him despite a dodgy performance last year in it. Got him at 14/1 straight after his Dunlop Phoenix win a few weeks ago.

  • sean

    Plucking at straws time….
    Hero Challenge;
    Jordan Speith……13/2
    Henrik Stenson….18/1
    Australian PGA;
    Jason Scriviner….40/1
    Greg Chalmers…..70/1
    Mauritius Open;
    Darren Fichardt….40/1
    SSP Chawrasia…..66/1

And lets all enjoy Tiger’s post tournament interview…..

  • Craig h

Disengage your brain bets for me this week.

    Oosthuizen – Thomas e/w double + Scott e/w treble
    Oosthuizen – koepka e/w double + Scott e/w treble

    As always good luck all.

    • Warrick

Louis makes me nervous when he is putting
Cost me dearly in the 2015 Open Championship at St Andrews
Finally got his feet closer together which I believe was his problem
Scott just can’t string 4 good rounds together
      Brooks is also my pick

    • Craig h

I totally get where your coming from Warrick and I wouldn’t bet either of the 2 in a single at their prices but you don’t have to break the bank to get semi decent returns in the doubles and trebles.
Louis is helping design the sister course to the 1 being played this week so I think he will be switched on to put on a good showing this week and a couple of weeks back his 8th in the nedbank came in a higher class field after a bit of a break so there is a chance he could lap this field.
For Adam Scott this is basically a home game and his form here is 3-2-1 and I heard that it’s about 6 years since he finished out of the 1st 6 in a tournament in oz. His current form is not the best but I’m hoping the return home and after the break will see him put on a good show.

  • Craig h

Couldn’t help myself, had to have a few e/w’s on some outsiders in Mauritius.

    Zander Lombard 80/1
    Alex haindl 100/1
    Jacques kruyswijk 125/1
    Ockie strydom 125/1
    Hennie du plessis 125/1

    • Pigpen

Put Louis and leishman in a double …..looking good so far….probably hexed this now but usually these 2 stay up there ….world class against these fields ( red wine feeding my confidence hic)

      • kaiser

think leishman nailed but louis is an odd golfer…cant weigh him up

i did brians luck with peterson but also added fowler as a FRL so seen as luck has pulled his finger out last night kinda hoping peterson takes his lead

        good luck

  • Kaiser

feels like there is an elephant in the room…tiger woods !
we have all had a say about him pver his public melt downs

thoughts gents ? nearly had him before second round started…my head said steer clear…took kuchar instead….ohh dear…wrong decision it seems…bollox

  • Callum

Couldn’t resist one last wee sneaky bet of 2017. Did Hoffman on Friday morning when he was still at 22/1 then (33/1 I seen pre-event). Good shape ahead of Sunday.

  • Rick Poplawski

Very annoyed with Fowler..he has put himself in a great position in every round and then totally blown it every time.
The double with Cameron Smith is surely out the window now😡

  • Warrick

    Had a treble
    Cameron Smith
    Dylan Fratelli
And sorry to say Brooks …out of form Kopeka

    Close but no cigar

    • Rick Poplawski

Unlucky Warrick..doubles and trebles, or even a patent might have been a better call though?

So, who does everybody think the player to watch out for next season is?

  • Kaiser

    slim pickings treble…scrapping the barrel

joburg loubser 500-1 with vegas and lexi into in-kyung dubai frl
same but pairing of berger and woodland in florida

thats all thats on my xmas list..welk done rick…hoping for lady luck myself

    • Crazylegs

      Joberg
      Shaun Norris 50-1
4 top 10’s in last 6 outings and was second in Japan last week. Gotta be a home winner this week. Like Porteous, but will chance Norris with sky bet paying top 7….

  • Rick Poplawski

Another day another $ one hopes.

This week may be quite straight forward in S.A… do not get on with LO really and whilst I have him in Dbls he could prove a class apart this week.
Nevertheless, I have also gone with Burmester, Langsaque and Manley.

And doubled up with defending champs Koooch and English along with Hoffman and Zach.

The very best to one and all.

  • Robbie

Norris and Lansanque plus 2 outsiders for me Nathan Kinsey and Marcus Armitage top 10 and top 20 last week in Aus.
Last bet of the year for me been a poor finish after an ok start.
    Gla cheers

  • sean

    Darren Fitchard…….22/1
    Joel Stalter………….55/1
    Both in Joburg.
QBE Shootout ; On Current Form,Rick+Callum😃

    • kaiser

bag of shit womans event….rhubarb !!
switch on to the web com tour…bremner FRL into romain outright

  • Kaiser

    well done sky…frl is on
burmester, prinsloo into clark dennis in Mauritius

need to tonk it in africa due to flooding…dean burmester smashes it miles !!

  • Craig h

Last chance saloon for the year this week.
I’m useless at south African tournaments but thought I’d give it a shot.
When in South Africa bet south Africans is always a good way to start and given this is last event of the year at a new venue I’ve avoided the shorter prices and had a few stabs further down the list.
I know generally backing players who are members at clubs is the quick way to the poor house but given this course hasn’t been used for a pro event since 2010 I thought I’d chuck a few £’s on Anthony Michael @ 250/1 and 12/1 for a top 20.

    Ockie strydom 80/1
    Oliver bekker 80/1
    Jean Hugo 100/1
    Jaco prinsloo 100/1
    Neil schietekat 150/1
    Anthony michael 250/1

For 1 last time good luck all.
