Pebble Beach Pro-Am – betting tips 30

It feels like sacrilege to be down on a tournament at Pebble Beach but I cannot help but feel underwhelmed by the whole event. The Pro-Am element make the rounds tortuously slow and the coverage is usually diabolical. With the top of the market likely to dominate it becomes hard to must much enthusiasm. Enter Lanto Griffin.

The 29-year-old probably won’t make it to Sunday, sparing us the pain of watching but if he does interest will be heightened by his odds. The world number 340 has enjoyed something of a journeyman career taking in the LatinoAmerica Tour and the Tour but he won on both and a strike-rate of 2/58 is good for a professional golfer.

This is obviously a massive step-up in class but his win last year at the Nashville Open kicked off a run of good form and two weeks ago he impressed with a T12 at the Farmers Insurance Open. There have been surprise winners of this event before, so why not Griffin.

1pt e/w Lanto Griffin at 400/1 Coral (7 places; 1/5 odds)

    Lanto Griffin ! ! !
Sounds like a character from South Park ☺
Paul Dunne ? Interesting participant at links.
Pro-Ams a turn off here too.
I expect a big bounceback from Speith in this.
He’s the defending champion and likes the course. Mr Reliable,Kooooch, looks nailed on for a place and Shane is due a good tournament.
    Jordan Speith……..12/1
    Matt Kuchar………..33/1
    Shane Lowry……….50/1

Over Yonder in the Handa Perth 6 tournament ,
Im again sticking with the defending champion Rumford. Not your usual 72 hole tournament , picking a winner is harder than usual.
    Brett Rumford……….28/1
    Austin Connelly……..80/1

    Think I’ll try a ‘RON’………
    Speith / Rumford double…364/1😨

Watching Bill Murray trying to play golf and be funny at the same time absolutely pisses me off to no end. Hopeless at both and the dickheads keep putting the camera on the goose.
Going with cross doubles All into Rose for The Masters.
    Pebble Beach
    Into Perth 54 hole Leader
    Good Luck All

Had Rumford in Oz last year but really disliked the format so not playing at all this week.

If I was to have a go in the US it would be either of 2 Jason’s..

      yes rick…going large
Jason day into campos into rumford into mr rose the masters….its his turn warrick ?

like you say rumford is the one here ? stupid OZ golf with a also a daft format down under ?

If The Masters was on this week,I would fancy Mickelson. He’s playing great golf, the best he has played in awhile. Alas its 2 months away.
Rose should have beaten Sergio last year and I fear that could be playing on his mind come april. Nevertheless he has a liking for Augusta and I will probably have an investment closer to the start of the tournament.

Lovely views but not much else.

A few E/W darts at good prices,

H Tanihara made the last four in the World Match Play last year and has a recent top 5. A hopeful choice in a ridiculous format in Australia.

Dustin johnson has great current and course form.

Johnson/Tanihara double with an ew saver on Pat Perez.

    Good luck to all.

kataoka in perth .? as good as any. big price as his name keeps popping up at the head of the field. just can’t seem to stay there the young japanese

Can’t wait for next week at Riviera, this week is a bit meh. Love watching golf at pebble but hate the coverage the 1st 3 days so Sunday will be the only day I tune into. Although saying that Jim nantz commentating on Tony Romo could be quite funny.
Past history shows you have to have shown some form at this event and generally it takes a decent player to win although as with everything there are always some anomalys.

    Pat Perez 35/1
    Brandt snedeker 40/1
    Paddy reed 40/1
    Chris Kirk 100/1

I’ve got zero interest in the super 6, talk about a lottery.

    As always good luck all.

I hate the split courses thing let-a-lone the pro-am element. However the Super 6 part while concept is cool betting a pure lottery. Might put few quid on Rumford for 1RL but that’s it.

PGA few ews as per. Was a nice wee earner off two places + tied place last week (Fox, Hadley and Schneiderjans)

    Sneds – 33/1
    Perez – 33/1
    Hadley – 50/1
    Reavie – 55/1
    Streelman – 90/1
    Watney – 100/1
    Stallings – 125/1
    Hoge – 200/1
