OHL Classic – betting tips 21

With thick mangrove waiting to gobble up wayward tee-shots, finding fairways is paramount this week in Mexico. If you keep the ball on the grass then El Camaleon golf course is get-able. Pat Perez won on 21-under last year  and 34 players made it into double digits under par.

Measuring under 7,000 yards this isn’t a big hitters golf course and with wind coming off the sea, it is crucial that players have total control of their golf ball.

On paper this is the perfect test for Chez Reavie. Not the longest (149th in driving distance) he strength is accuracy off tee, where he ranking 4th in driving accuracy last season.  Put a wedge in his hand and he can do some damage; he was T8 in proximity to the pin with approaches from 125-150 yards last season.

All this put together produced a T4 finish twelve months ago and that is despite a slow start. The 35-year-old kept his form up for pretty much the entire season and hasn’t missed a cut since week 20 at the Byron Nelson. Eventually his consistency will turn into a win and this is the ideal venue.

1pt each-way Chez Reavie at 40/1 with Coral (7 places; 1/5 odds)

Another course that should suit accuracy, so with that in mind,

Whee Kim let me down for £300 in the Playoff last week
    But that’s punting for you.
I tuned in with a few holes to play, with Spaun, Cantlay & Kim all going well on 11 under.
I looked at Skybet, and they had Cjeka priced up at 200/1 who was in the Clubhouse at 9 under. The wind was getting up, and all the leaders were virgins do to speak, so I threw a fiver at it.

One hour later, I’m watching Cjeka have a putt to win it.
Unfortunately neither he or Kim could get the job done, and Cantlay won on the 2nd Playoff hole.
Couldn’t believe my luck when I saw the 200s on offer.

Fowler….Ohh dear….he wins no were near enough events for me ? He gets put on a pedestal…likeable guy Fowler but he can’t seem to bridge the gap to really excell and be great

Rickie statistically fits many courses and this is one. Odds are he should play well one of those times.

I had Spaun last week and thought I was in the money until he made it to the 17th & then disaster struck! Didn’t even get a top 6 place! 😫 This week I’m going for:

    GL all

    Chesson Hadley $26
    Luke List $46 betfair
    Aaron Baddely $150 betfair

I’m big on Chesson Hadley. Current form is real form and $26 is overs. Ah Me old mate Badds. Top 10 last week. This course should suit. I’m still having that premonition he’s gonna win a major. I might still be saying that in 20 years time lol.

And thanks for the Rekindling tip Craig.

Glad I could be of assistance greg.
Got to say that he won that well that if he doesn’t go up to far in the weights he could be interesting again next year.
